Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis is a disorder that affects the central nervous system which includes the brain and spinal cord. The myelin, which is the covering around the nerves, becomes inflamed preventing the transfer of signals along the nervous system. Symptoms can include vision loss, double vision, numbness, fatigue and difficulty with ambulation. A number of tests can be utilized to diagnose multiple sclerosis including Evoked Potentials, Spinal Tap and MRI.
